Spooky.... From Spooky's Family
Spooky was adopted in Sept. 2002 and was formerly known as Hawk.
From the day we brought him home to the day he died, he was the consummate retriever of balls of all kinds as well as a dedicated (and daily) swimmer in our pool, with or without us.

He loved us without reservation and as I sit her typing, I cannot help looking for him next to me as he had been faithfully for the eight years we were lucky enough to have him in our family. Spooky was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma (cancer of the blood vessels) which, as we understand it, caused the  growth of several tumors, one of which attached to his spleen causing a rupture. It was a very sudden and sad decision for us to put him down.

He was a prince to the end and we were thankful to be with him when he passed. I am sending two of my favorite pictures of Spook. The first was taken  when he was three years old, at the ready to do a water retrieve for us. The second was taken
last year, just after he turned eight, still letting us know that he was ready to play. Thank you for introducing us to a truly outstanding dog, loving friend,  and deeply missed member of our family.
